Quick tour

The exact features in your Web Mapping Application may vary. This is a tour of some common features in many applications.

  1. Start the Web Mapping Application from the URL you have been given.

  2. If you have a wheel mouse, zoom in on the map by moving the mouse over the map and scrolling the wheel forward a few times.
  3. Pan (re-center),, the map by holding down the left mouse button and dragging on the map. The pan function is the default tool, active when the application starts.

  4. Draw a rectangle to zoom to that area. Hold Shift on the Keyboard, then click and drag on the map to draw a rectangle, and release the mouse button. The map zooms into the area of the rectangle.

  5. If the Navigation image is available, click on an arrow in the image (North, South, East, West) to pan (re-center) the map in that direction. Pan back the opposite direction. Notice the map is already present in areas you return to. This illustrates the caching functionality of the application.

  6. Build a Route by placing Stops on the map. Click on the Map to place a Stop. After placing 2 or more Stops click Get Route on the tool panel.

  7. Explore other content and tools in the map. We hope you find this Web Mapping Application useful and fun!
